Great victory for the boys

The Reserve Grade had a well earned 1 – 0 win and played terrific soccer against a determined Dapto.  The Quarriers played well for most of the match before lapsing in the past fifteen minutes and allowing Dapto to put some sustained pressure on them.  The result was a bit closer than the way the game actually panned out and midfielder Dave Jovanov, in his first game back after prolonged injury, scored two goals that were disallowed by a linesman waving his flag.  He was the only person at the match that saw any indiscretions in the lead up to the goals but his decision stood.

Brian Brown scored Kiama’s only legitimate goal midway through the second half and the boys held on for some well deserved winner’s points.  Best for the Quarriers were defender Todd Schofield who battled a six and a half foot attacker all game and the Kiama Leagues Club Man of the Match Noel Wurst in the midfield.  Wurst had a top game and is getting back to his good form of earlier in the year.
